The chants and dances of Deba, which are exclusively practiced by women refer to the great Sufi ceremonies which celebrate the birth of the Prophet. Wearing the traditional white dresses and beautiful ornaments, they slowly sway, sometimes seated, sometimes standing, to echo the movement of ocean waves in a long and hypnotic undulation.
