For twenty-four hours, the art of the raga tops the bill in various forms: sung, danced and instrumental, from the Hindustani tradition to the Carnatic tradition, from highbrow music to lowbrow music. Showing the raga within its veritable temporal dimension, through a complete cycle lasting a full day and night, is a way of recreating its true perception of modal feeling and its association with a particular time.
